Breaking Down the Myths About Lactose Intolerance

Understanding the myths and facts surrounding lactose intolerance can make a significant difference in your ability to manage it. With the right knowledge and tools, you can confidently enjoy dairy...

Do you have IBS, Crohn’s, or Celiac Disease?

Bactose is formulated to support lactose digestion. It is not intended to treat or manage any medical conditions. If you have IBS, Crohn’s disease, or Celiac disease, and your dairy discomfort is caused by inflammation or a sensitivity to milk proteins like casein or whey (rather than lactose), Bactose may not provide benefit.

What's the difference between a dairy allergy and lactose intolerance?

A dairy allergy is an immune system reaction to the proteins found in milk, such as casein and whey. In people with a dairy allergy, even small amounts of dairy can trigger serious symptoms like hives, swelling, vomiting, or in rare cases, anaphylaxis. This is different from lactose intolerance, which is a non-allergic digestive issue caused by the body’s inability to break down lactose, the sugar in milk. Lactose intolerance typically results in bloating, gas, or diarrhea after eating dairy. Bactose is formulated to support lactose digestion—it does not affect dairy proteins—so it should not be used by individuals with a dairy allergy.

FAQ

How does Bactose work?

Bactose doesn’t contain lactase enzymes—instead, it features a probiotic strain known to support lactose digestion. When taken daily for 7 days, Bactose helps populate your gut with beneficial bacteria that produce enzymes naturally to support the breakdown of lactose. It’s designed as a 7-day course, intended to be completed before evaluating your experience with dairy. Most users begin enjoying dairy again starting on Day 8.

Does Bactose help with Casin and Whey intolerances?

Bactose is designed to help with lactose digestion—it does not affect dairy proteins like casein or whey. If your symptoms are related to those proteins, Bactose may not help.

Not sure which is affecting you?

  1. If lactose-free milk still causes discomfort, it may be protein-related.
  2. If lactase enzyme pills haven’t helped, casein or whey could be the cause.

Always check with your healthcare provider to better understand your individual response to dairy.

Lactase enzymes don't work well for me, would Bactose work for me?

If lactase enzymes haven’t worked for you, Bactose may not either. While some people react to lactose, others may be sensitive to dairy proteins like casein or whey. Bactose is designed to support lactose digestion only—it won’t help with protein-related discomfort.

Can I consume dairy in the first 7 days?

During the initial 7-day course, we recommend sticking with lactose-free dairy products or using lactase enzyme pills if you consume regular dairy. Bactose is designed to support lactose digestion after completing the full course.

Many customers begin reintroducing dairy starting on Day 8. With ongoing monthly use, many customers continue consuming dairy during future 7-day recharge periods.
